Heat wave
Wonderful storms yesterday but today it’s supposed to be a heat-wave day with temperatures soaring to 100 degrees. UGH! Also, because of all the rain north of here, the rivers are flooding the areas around Platteville. Probably ok because the farmers need rain badly.
So I’m sitting here with my window open while it’s still cool outside, if you call 82 degrees cool. It’s nice though, to hear the breeze, traffic, people walking by, birds, locusts, the stuff of life. Soon enough I’ll have to close it against the hot air pushing through.
Heather is coming down today, to escape the heat of her apartment. They have a room a/c but don’t like running it because of the cost. Well I can understand that. Right now, I’m glad my place is smaller than when we lived downstairs, because it costs a lot less to heat or air condition.
I got my official last day of internship confirmation this week. Looks like I’ll be wrapping things up on August 26. Although I want to continue working at LE, I am now circulating my resume again. So we’ll see what the future holds for me. Meanwhile I better save any extra $$ I might have, (ha! like I have any) in case I don’t get hired right after my LE internship ends. Livin’ on the Edge! hehehe
Time to read the newspaper. Then time to shut the window and start the day.
