You may think you are having Profound Revelations; only to discover later they were none too profound.

Grey day

Sure is dreary outside. It’s been warmer than usual lately, and foggy/wet/slightly drizzly. The snow is melting and it’s no longer white and fluffy. Now it’s just slushy, grey dirty piles of stuff with muddy paths cut in it where people cross the lawn. At least it was still pretty for Christmas. )

Mom and dad were over Monday to help out with some packing. They took down my Christmas tree. Only one ornament casualty, so that’s not too bad. I know mom felt terrible breaking that one too, because she was just admiring it. It was a clear glass ornament with a ship inside, sort of a “ship in a bottle” thing. Oh well, stuff happens. Still, it was a big help for them to get that tree down. I packed up my dishes, pots, pans, etc. while they worked on that. Then we called it a day. They spent the night, then went over to Susan’s again the following day.

Yesterday Heather was here to help me pack. We got a lot done too. I think at this point, I’m better than 3/4 done packing. Kitchen done, living room nearly done, dining area done, my bedroom 95% done. Today I’ll pack up my bathroom and any other misc. stuff hanging around. I have to take a look in the storage unit downstairs to see what I want to pull out of there. Then it’s on to the spare room. I have a bunch of stuff I have to prepare for moving in there. Not much packing actually. The bunk bed has to come down, ziggy has to get put back in her tank for a few days (she’s gonna hate that!) and general cleaning up and moving the beds out of the room. I think today I will also disassemble my computers, get them situated and ready to transport. They may have to ride in my van. Sort of important that they are handled with the GREATEST of care. Especially my Mac. It’s an old-ish computer but still runs great. It’s my work computer, and if I lost that, I’d be in a heap of trouble.

Speaking of work, I promised GB I’d update his bank balances once more before the move, and that’s today’s first chore. Well, after I’m full of coffee, that is. )

I might not post again till next week, once I’m in the new place and have my computers up and running again. I’ll take pictures and post them too. So wish me luck! It’s time for that new life I’ve been dreaming about. D

Ugh!
