Family visiting :)

Last weekend Heather and Brian were both over for dinner on Sunday. That was nice. I like it when I have both of ‘em here at the same time. ) We talked alot about Brian and the Marines, the apartment, his car, etc. etc. It was long enough ago though, I don’t remember specifics and I didn’t post about it. So there goes one day, undocumented. My bad!

The week went by pretty fast. I love having a job that keeps me busy and on my toes all the time. Time goes by and before I know it, it’s Friday again. Yay! D Paul was going to visit friends in St. Louis for the weekend, so Heather planned on spending the weekend with me. We made plans to go to a mall, visit a friend I know from the CEDA list, do laundry, make lots of good food, stuff like that. Then Brian asked me if I could make a big batch of beef stew and give him half of it to take along on his trip to Colorado. Then mom called to ask if they could come up and visit for a couple few days. Oh boy! I had a full house this weekend! I was exhausted by Sunday evening, but I really enjoyed the times we had.

Heather came up on Friday and brought her kitty Kolu. I think it took her less than an hour to get used to my apartment, and then she was running all over the place. Mom and Dad came up by 7pm and we had seafood alfredo for dinner. It was yummy! Saturday morning we had bagels and cream cheese for breakfast, and went down around Main St. looking in the stores and window shopping. Heather had to work Saturday nite, so we went to the grocery store, bought the beef stew stuff, and went home so she could get ready for work. It’s a 1-hour drive but she needed to go in because they give her only 2 days a week, Saturday’s one of ‘em. While she was gone, Brian showed up. So he sat with me and gram and gramp and ate beef stew and rice for dinner. Heather came back early, she got out of work a couple hours early so that was nice. Both kids spent the nite, too. D Brian slept on a mattress on the floor, Heather was on the fold-out couch bed, Mom and Dad were in the guest room.

Sunday morning we all got up and had a big Sunday breakfast together. That was a tradition of Platteville, actually. The kids and I used to try to make Sunday breakfast the meal we share regularly. Even after Heather moved out we still got together for Sunday breakfast a lot. Brian hadn’t had one since I left Platteville so it was sorta easy to bribe him into spending the night by promising him breakfast. ) Bacon, scrambled cheesy eggs, rice, toast, orange juice. Was very yummy. Brian had to leave early cuz he was heading to Colorado with his friends. Gram, Gramp, Heather and I went to 12:30 mass at Holy Hill. The folks seemed to enjoy that. Awesome views too. I got a few pictures, will post them later. After that, Heather, Gramma and I went out to Mayfair Mall. What a nice mall! very busy too with folks cruisin all around the parking lots looking for a space. I lucked out, got a blue-zone spot right at the entrance to the mall. We’ll have to go back to that mall again. Only covered half of it.

Came back home and made ham baked potatoes corn and sliced pineapple for dinner. Turned out good. Heather went back home after dinner (I miss the kitty!) and the folks spent the night again. I came home Monday for lunch, ate with mom and dad, and they left after I went back to work. So now I have an empty house again.

Weird, how I crave quiet alone time but when I am all alone again after a weekend like this, it makes me depressed and sad. S’ok, I’ll get over it. This coming weekend I will have to concentrate on cleaning because I might be hosting Easter dinner. (yay!)

It’s late, I have to sleep. zzzzzzzzzzzz

Back to Saturday again

This and That
