Easter Sunday Trip
Heather and Brian were here for the day today. In fact, they came out last night and spent the night. Heather brought Kolu with her again. That was nice! I like that lil 3 legged kitty.
We had a nice breakfast together, then headed out despite the threat of storms, in search of the North Point Lighthouse in Milwaukee. We followed the directions exactly but guess what. One of the exits we had to take was closed due to construction - 794. And there was really no marked detour route. We wound up driving round and round downtown Milwaukee for about 45 minutes. Finally, with Brian navigating (I was driving) we found 794 but were going the wrong way. So we turned around and found our way to the road we had been searching for. It was worth the time, though. The lighthouse is cool. It’s undergoing renovations right now so we couldn’t go in, but I got a bunch of pics anyway. Here’s the link to the Pbase gallery:
And here’s a panorama picture of the beach across the street from the lighthouse, that isn’t on pbase:
It’s always good to have both kids here. I know I have to enjoy this time while I can. So I do!
We had lamb for dinner, and then pineapple upside down cake for Heather’s birthday. We even sang Happy Birthday to her! I guess I didn’t really have my act together enough, I forgot to buy a her a card. (sorry Heather!) Still, I hope she had a good day. She’s turning 21 on Tuesday. Hard to believe my kids are grown up and all… Seems like not that long ago we were packing up lunches and floaties and swimmies and going to the beach in Hawaii for a Sunday afternoon. Hmmm that’s sortof what we did today!
Anyway, I have to get some rest. Another busy work week ahead and I want to get lots done.
Good night!
