Did you remember to set your clocks forward last night?
They’re calling for rain, storms, maybe even severe thunderstorms for today. That would be sooo cool, to be able to watch it for a change. Usually the storms hit at night and I sleep through them. We’ll see what the day brings.
I had a very odd dream last night. I dreamed I was working at Lands’ End again, but it was totally different than when I was there this summer. I was having a helluva time getting around in my wheelchair. Everywhere I went there were narrow aisles, bumps and steps, roads and traffic, it was weird. I was in a crosswalk, and the traffic going one way stopped so I got half way across the road but the traffic going the other way wouldn’t stop. When I finally got across the road I hit a big mound of dirt somehow, went flying up in the air, and when I came back down, one of my drive wheels had come off the chair. Then suddenly a policeman was there. He reached under the seat and turned some sort of handle and my whole chair fell apart. He said he was going to fix it for me, he knew exactly how to do this too. Odd. When I finally got back to my desk, it was like a classroom setting. Some folks were taking a test, some folks were reviewing the results of a test they took. There were a bunch of people dressed up as graduates, in black caps and gowns, walking around outside of the room. Strange. I mostly remember being very frustrated trying to make my way around in my wheelchair.
Brian got a disturbing letter from the Defense Department saying something like he was rejected for the position he had applied for, and could re-apply in 45 days. I need to either see that letter, or have him read it word-for-word to me because I don’t know exactly what it means. He is very unhappy right now. He needs to call his recruiter ASAP tomorrow and sort this out.
I spent yesterday cleaning my apartment. The only thing I have left to do is vaccuum. But my back hurts a lot now so I think I will put that off awhile. The kitchen sure looks clean! I moved the birds to the end of the hallway, right next to my bedroom door. They were in the dining area but the seed shells and feathers tend to get everywhere and I don’t like that at the table. I had them in the guest room but didn’t like them being that far away. I think I’ve settled on a reasonable situation now. They’re in sight whether I’m in my room or in the living room (well somewhat). At least they’re not tucked away in a room now. Or shedding feathers on the table.
Now that I finally figured out how to remote-desktop to my computer at work, I can work from home. This is pretty cool. Maybe now when I have UPS packages being delivered, I’ll be able to stay home half the day and wait for ‘em myself.
I’m going to do some stuff for myself for work today, like making a timeline of what I need to do to get my first database up and running on time. Yes, I have a deadline! It has to be ready to ship by May 15th. I guess other analysts have their own ways of putting tasks into a timeline. Some use Outlook, which I’m sorta leaning towards… But I’ll try this spreadsheet approach first. I have a few other things to do to the Summary report also. Will be sorta nice to do stuff from home now that I’m better understanding what it is I have to do.
But for now I’m going to sit and watch the sky. I hope it rains soon, and good!
