Profound Revelations

It has been awhile since I’ve posted, although there’s a whole lot talk about. I will be going on another trip next week. I am going back to North Carolina again. It’s also possible to be going back there a third time. They don’t seem to be gaining a really good grasp of how to manage the software. This makes me think they would really benefit from some additional days of training of their FSA. Apparently they have for extra days in their contract, and we are just not sure what were going to do with them yet. I thought I had no more trips planned for the rest of this year. But now I could be wrong! We may squeeze in that third visit to North Carolina in November. Also, I just got another client! The new client is in Silver City, New Mexico. These people want somebody to come to their facility and help them work through the two surveys that we normally have the client complete on their own and then return to us at API software. With a little bit of discussion, we’ve had about this. I’ve been told that a coworker will come along with me and we will spend three to four days going through their surveys. This is exciting for me! I finally feel like I’ve reached the top of the learning curve. And I really like to use my knowledge to get through this new client and also set up in all the writing.

I still haven’t taken pictures of my new van. My bad! I promise I will do it soon. It is a really nice van, and now that I have all my junk in it, it feels more like home when I get in there rather than a rental car. The mileage is pretty good but not all that much better than Rosie’s mileage. Still, with all the little things that Rosie had going wrong it just didn’t make sense to put a lot of money into an old van.

And now a bit of bad news: Dad was taken to the hospital in an ambulance on Friday morning. We are not sure what is going on, but what we do know for sure is he did not have a heart attack. We also know that his gallbladder is swollen, his kidneys have damage to them, and his prostate is enlarged again. I don’t like to think like this, but it almost sounds like there’s cancer back in there again. Susan and I are going down to see him today. Maybe I am worrying more than I should, but I have for trip coming up next week. I really hope things will start looking better for dad. I guess I was pretty upset last night. I drank whole bottle of wine by myself. I have all these bad thoughts going through my head and I know I am really jumping the gun. I guess I just can’t help myself. I felt like I slept good last night. But today, I feel tired.

It’s going to take some getting used to, dictating everything rather than typing. I think better when I’m typing. Its really weird because I’m doing the same thing, and just talking instead of typing. But it seems so different. Anyway, I gotta get up and get moving, because I am leaving around 10 o’clock this morning, and I still have lots of coffee to drink. I wonder if Dad needs anything while he is sitting there in the hospital? Maybe I should bring him his hairbrush. He left it here when I was on my last trip.

I can already see one thing that’s going to happen while I dictate rather than type…these blog entries are going to be very long. I’m trying to use my voice recorder, and then transcribe what I have in there to Dragon. I haven’t had much luck with it though. I think it gets about a 45 to 50% accuracy, which is not good. I won’t be getting Dragon NaturallySpeaking 9 on this computer, because I’m only allowed to install on one computer and that’s going to be the work computer. I’m hoping it will work better with voice recorder, because I will be able to use it for work now. I will have to work on training for voice recorder now for work. OK, I just said work too many times in one paragraph. Maybe I should go back to bed.

When I think of some more stuff to talk about, I will make another entry. But for now, I will just say buh bye!
