AWOL!

Wow, it’s been awhile since I posted much here.  Life has been hectic!  Family, work, home, it’s all keeping me busy.  Tired too.

I finally got the travel wheelchair I’ve been hoping would come through eventually.  It’s really nice, comes apart into 3 light-weight pieces, and I can travel through airports all the way to the gate.  The airline takes it down to the plane and loads it up.  Which allows me free roam of the airport without having to carry things or lug my briefcase around behind me.  Yay!

I took it on its maiden voyage last week when I flew out to New Mexico.  New Mexico is interesting.  Very different than the midwest.  I went to a place called the City of Rocks, and got a lot of nice pics.

The City of Rocks

Let’s try the link again, see if it works.

News on the homefront:  Dad has been in and out of the hospital twice in the past month or so; mom, once.  I’ve been making the drive down about once a week to hang out and stuff, help clean the basement, give mom a bit of time off if she wants to go out.  I hope it’s helpful, because I can’t contribute to the parental unit fund like my other siblings.

The job is going great.  I have 1 more trip to New Mexico next month, then I’ll be flying to Seattle 2-3 times this summer.  I love the travel!

The kids are doing good too.  Heather is still job-hunting.  I’m sure something will come her way eventually.  Brian will be here visiting next week.  He seems to have settled into his new job, and new duty station.  It will be good to see him again )

The critters are all in good shape too, except our triops have lived out their lives.  They’re only supposed to live like 60-90 days, so it was no big surprise to see them doing the back float one day.  We’ll try to grow some more soon.  They were so cool!

I have a whole bunch of new pictures up at PicasaWeb, just haven’t been sending out notice of them lately.  I’m lucky to get them out of the camera and uploaded, I’ve been so busy or distracted lately!  Anyway, here’s the url:  http://picasaweb.google.com/smkellen  if you’re interested in seeing what my new camera can do.  D

The weather has finally turned warm again.  I think spring is officially here.  Maybe we won’t get any more snow.  That would be nice.  Heather and I will go for a walk today, and I’ll take more pictures.  Stay tuned!

Oh, I almost forgot…  I’m back in “school” again.  I’m taking some classes offered through UW Milwaukee’s continuing ed program.  Just finished up the first one.  3 more, and I’ll earn a certificate for “Certified Software Developer Professional” or somesuch.  These classes are offered free of charge by my employer, Luis Garcia and api software, inc.  Although I really dislike the homework, I’m glad to have this opportunity.  I’ll be able to add an acronym to my signature line now!  heheheh  Sharon Tsuffis, CSD    8)

Well now it’s time to get lazy for a couple hours, before I get back to work on my Seattle client’s summary document.  Yep, working from home now!  At least the option is there.  I don’t have to go to the office to get things done.

Buh bye!
