Pressure… under pressure…
Current Mood:
Stressed
I’m hearing the Queen/David Bowie tune in my brain today. There’s still a lot of work to do on the Seattle client’s custom programming documentation. I’m having minor panic attacks that I won’t be able to get it all done in time. Formal review of my documentation is scheduled for Thursday, the 5th. Plus, their project manager has been griping a lot about things not working perfectly in their new system while testers are testing. Well, DUH, that’s what the testing phase is for; to identify errors and fix things.
Being overly-anxious doesn’t help to motivate me.
I really gotta get my rear in gear today and do alot of work.
I had a hearing test on Tuesday which went ok. I guess my results were in the lower end of normal range, but still acceptable. This was a prerequisite to having tubes put in my ears again, which was done Wednesday morning. That went well, too, but I was pretty light-headed when the procedure was finished. So the doctor advised me to rest for a day. I guess you could say I rested. I sat in bed all day and worked on that dang-blasted custom programming documentation. So despite the fact that I was supposed to take it easy, I actually worked for 10+ hours that day. :aie: Anyway, maybe now my ears won’t hurt so much when I’m in an airplane. Shouldn’t have any more perforated ear drums either.
Thursday night I went out to the freezer in the garage, to see if there was anything good for dinner. Guess what. Somehow, the freezer got unplugged. Probably 5 days ago when Heather was looking for her summer clothes container out there. AAACCCKKKK! That was disgusting! :beurk: I’m glad there wasn’t a lot of stuff in it. Of course, that lovely smell permeated the entire apartment building. It was so late, I did not have the energy to clean it out. I quickly slammed the freezer shut, plugged it back in, and went back inside. Grabbed a can of air freshner stuff and squirted it all around out in the hallway. Sheeesh I know what I’ll be doing Friday when I get home from work.
That was soooo gross. Heather helped with the cleanup. We poured hot water over everything and loosened it up from the sides of the freezer. Packed it into a couple trash bags and heaved it up into the dumpster. I cleaned the freezer with pine sol followed by bleach followed by clear hot water. I hope the smell goes away soon. At least the apartment building isn’t suffering from my mishap anymore. The air smells normal now.
So here I sit, trying to motivate myself to write up yet another version of Missed Rest Break, and move on to Scheduled Overtime. Then I have to finish up all the smaller customization documents. Then I have to put example boxes in every one of these darn things. I should just move the coffee pot in here, chain myself to the bed frame leg, and get started.
Here goes… :choler:
